Πειραιάς

Το χειμώνα του 1922, στα βόρεια όρια του Δήμου Πειραιά, στις όχθες του ρέματος Καναπιτσερή δημιουργήθηκε ένας αυτοσχέδιος οικιστικός θύλακας που γρήγορα εξελίχθηκε στο συνοικισμό της Νέας Κοκκινιάς. Οι αρχικές σκηνές και τα αυτοσχέδια παραπήγματα γρήγορα μετατράπηκαν σε μια ολόκληρη πόλη, πυρήνας της οποίας ήταν το κεντρικό στεγαστικό σχέδιο που εκπονήθηκε από το Ταμείο Περιθάλψεως Προσφύγων και την Επιτροπή Αποκατάστασης Προσφύγων της περιόδου 1924- 1928. Σήμερα, σε πολλά από αυτά τα σπίτια κατοικούν μετανάστες  από την Ανατολική Ευρώπη, την Αλβανία και το Πακιστάν, αποτυπώνοντας τις αλλαγές αλλά και τις συνέχειες στην πόλη.
